Every man leaves a legacy. The question is not if a man leaves a legacy but what kind of legacy will he leave. This fall we will pursue what is involved in establishing a legacy that will last the test of time, bless those around us and receive approval from our Lord.
On Tuesdays, beginning September 14  (6:00-7:30 AM or 7:00-8:30 PM), we will meet in the Tejas Room to get a better grip on how to leave a lasting legacy. The format will be very similar to what we did with Men’s Fraternity. Reggie will lead the main sessions and there will be “man time” where men can discuss with other men how to implement this into their lives.

Lend a helping hand at the Maternity Home. We’ll paint, do some minor carpentry repairs, haul off debris, and do yard work. There’s something for everyone to do…all ages, all skill levels. “Man Time – Facing our Giants” begins Tuesday, June 8 from 6:00-7:30 AM in the Tejas Room. This is a 5 week study encouraging men to face the giants that typically rob them of their impact. Sign up today in the Main Hall.

Our Children’s Ministry has two events coming up this summer. Don’t forget to sign up for Family VBS (June 14-16, ages 4-2nd grade) or Summer Retreat (July 25-28, 3rd-4th grade).

Men’s Retreat is this weekend, April 23-25, at the Quartz Mountain Lodge.

Believer’s Baptism will be this Sunday, April 25 at New Harvest Church, 1401 Red Fox Rd (Google Maps link). 3:00 PM.

Graduates of high school and college will be honored on Sunday morning, May 23. If you would like your graduate to be included, please e-mail a photo along with their name, name of school, and future plans to ruth@gracechurch.com.

A shift in our student ministries: In order to more effectively prepare 6th graders for junior high, we have asked Jason Custer to focus all his attention on the Grace 56 ministry. In addition, we have hired George Castro as our Junior High Director. Please pray for the ministries of these men and the students whose lives they touch.

The Grace In Action Workday is this Saturday, April 17th, from 8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m., at the Loving Christian Maternity Home. We’ll do yard work, clean up debris, and paint. Refreshments will be provided. The Maternity Home is located at 4011 Seymour Highway. Everyone is invited–all ages, skilled or unskilled. No need to sign up, just show up! This Sunday morning is our Easter celebration, including the continuation of our Jewish Feasts series with Christ as the “First Fruits” of the resurrection. All services and Bible Fellowships are at their normal time.

Believer’s Baptism will be offered Sunday afternoon, April 25 at 3:00 PM at New Harvest Church, 1401 Red Fox Rd (Google Maps link). If you would like to be baptized as a believer in Jesus Christ, contact the church office before noon on April 19 to be interviewed by a staff pastor. For the rest of us, this is an opportunity to attend and encourage these members of our church family.

2010 began as we emerged out of the Blizzard of 2009. And as we begin 2010 I want to let you know what is happening in our Men’s Ministry.

Men’s Fraternity resumes on Tuesday, January 12 (at 6:00 AM or 7:00 PM). Each man needs to go to the “Servants by Design” website and fill out the questionnaire so you will be ready for the next sessions. I just did mine and I found it very helpful and confirming.

Tom’s Friday Study starts back this Friday, January 8th at 6:30 AM. Tom is teaching the book of Acts. This study is open to any man and some outside study is involved.

Be sure to set aside the weekend of April 23-25 for our Men’s Retreat at Quartz Mountain Lodge. This year our focus will be “Iron Sharpens Iron” from Proverbs 27:17. We will focus on how to be men who help “hone” each other to become all God has designed us to be. More details will be forthcoming. Let’s trust the Lord to use us in 2010 to make a greater difference for Him.
