Forms & Policies

Sometimes doing things well requires guidelines and paperwork. To make things a little easier where Grace Church is concerned, we try to make that information available on our website.

Weddings

To be asked to serve as the officiant of a wedding ceremony is a great privilege and honor. It is also a very serious responsibility, which we do not take lightly. Our duty as a church is to do the very best we can in preparing each couple for the challenges and possibilities of married life.

Requirements

Before we begin that preparation, we need to ascertain the couple’s commitment to several principles, which we deem essential for a wedding that will honor the Lord Jesus Christ.

  • Both parties must have believed in Jesus Christ as their Savior
  • Grace Church must be the home church of at least one of the parties
  • Both sets of parents must approve of the wedding with rare exceptions
  • The couple must not be sexually involved or living together
  • The couple must be committed to building a Christian home
  • The couple must have a biblical right to remarry, if a divorce has taken place

Premarital Counseling

In order to lay a foundation for a Christian home, a couple will normally need about four months to prepare for their wedding. Our premarital counseling program includes working through biblical responsibilities in marriage, “family-of-origin” issues, and skills necessary to have a mutually satisfying marriage.
