Meeting reminder and meeting dates

Team, remember that our next meeting will be Sunday, January 29 from 6–7 PM in the G.Y.M. Also remember that you must attend five out of the six meetings scheduled for this semester leading up to the trip.

The meetings are scheduled for:

• January 29
• February 26
• March 25
• April 22
• June 3
• July 8

Also, be sure to check back here periodically for the latest information regarding the trip. See you Sunday the 29th!

The team is formed!

Thank you for answering the call and applying for our mission trip to Jamaica! We are excited to announce that we will be taking 22 students and 6 leaders for a week of ministry to the deaf residents at CCCD.

For the students going with us on the trip (and their parents), please remember about the MANDATORY MEETING on Sunday, November 13 from 6–7 PM in the Grace56 Loft. Every student and at least one parent/guarding must be at this meeting to discuss fundraising.  Please be sure to bring anything lacking from your application (the Grace Church medical release form, the CCCD medical release form, and the $100 deposit) to the meeting. Also, if you already have a passport, please bring this so we can make a copy.

We have lots to discuss and do in preparation for the trip! Praise God for his provision of a wonderful group of students and leaders.

Application information

This summer, our students will be commissioned into the world as we serve a community that needs the love of Christ. There is a country, that although saturated with the gospel, has forgotten about 2,500 of its inhabitants. These forgotten are deaf. Welcome to Jamaica. Will you go?

For over a decade, Grace Church has partnered with the Caribbean Christian Center for the Deaf (CCCD) in ministering to this unreached people group of deaf men, women, and children. Two years ago, our senior high students traveled to Jamaica where they constructed buildings, ran a VBS for local children, and served the deaf. This summer, we will return to CCCD to build upon the foundation began two years ago. We pray you will consider joining us.

You can find basic information including estimated cost, a tentative schedule, and expectations for students going on the trip in our Jamaica 2012 Information Sheet.

To apply for the trip, please download the Jamaica 2012 Student Packet. This PDF packet includes a letter about the week, the student application, team covenant, and two necessary medical release forms. You will need to fill out the application (please note on page 2 about the required testimony), the covenant, and the release forms.

The deadline to turn in these documents along with a $100 deposit is Wednesday, November 2. Applications turned in after this date may not be accepted.

Mark Your Calendars! Our next MANDATORY meeting for all students is Sunday, November 13 in the Grace56 Loft from 6–7 PM. Parents will not need to be at all the meetings, but they should plan on attending this meeting because we will be discussing the principle and practice of raising financial support.  We will be instructing you as to how to raise support for the trip at this meeting, so please try to avoid requesting funds until we have discussed how to do this properly and in a way that benefits you, the gracious financial provider, and Grace Church.
