Purpose

Our ministry to students seeks to model and teach 5th and 6th graders what it looks like to pursue a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We want to come alongside these students as they enter adolescence and begin to develop their own personal belief systems. Our focus is relationship building, with the goal of walking through life with our students so they can see the discipleship process in action. We realize that parents are still the primary voice in students’ lives, so we hope to come alongside them by introducing positive role models that will reinforce the values they are learning at home.

We provide a fun, comfortable atmosphere where students will learn truth from the Bible that can be applied to their lives, worship God through contemporary Christian music, build relationships with their peers, and serve others. While our primary focus is encouraging and training our students in the discipleship process, we also want students to have a great time hanging out with their friends and mentors.

Grace 56

Block 1

This program uses David C. Cook’s Bible in Life curriculum. Each lesson is Bible based and designed to impact every student in the class. Most importantly, these lessons focus on helping students apply what they learn to their lives. During this service, students will also get the opportunity to eat snacks and hang out with their friends. Students have the choice of coming at the beginning of the service or after children are released from the adult worship service.

Block 2

During this program students have the opportunity to meet together for a time to hang out with their friends, eat snacks, hear announcements, and sing contemporary worship songs. We then split the 5th and 6th graders into small groups. In their two years in the 5th and 6th Grade ministry, students will overview the entire Bible. The curriculum is from Grapevine Studies and seeks to overview the major characters and events of both the old and new testaments.

Breakaway

This program is designed to be a mid-week “refresher” for students who need a brief escape from the issues they face in today’s culture. Breakaway is a great time to hang out with friends, play fun games, watch funny videos and skits, sing contemporary worship songs and listen to applicable teaching.

Dinner & A Movie

This program takes place every other Sunday night and coincides with Adult K-Groups. The students will be watching an appropriate movie and then discussing the spiritual themes found in the film.  Students have the option to bring their own dinner and eat while they watch the movie.
