The theme of Proverbs is that true wisdom comes from skillfully patterning one’s life according to the character of God. Proverbs 31 unfolds snapshots of what wisdom looks like throughout the different seasons of a woman’s life. Her awe of the Lord has driven her into the Scriptures, which enables her to bless those around her with “the teaching of kindness (literally Torah — God’s Word)” (v.26).
