What to Expect
Walking in the door
When you walk into Grace Church for the first time you will probably see some warm, friendly faces, but you won’t feel any pressure to sign-up or commit yourself to anything. We want you to feel free to check us out and determine whether we might be a good match for you (and your family). That’s why we want you to take things at a pace that is comfortable to you. Grace Church may not be for everyone, but we want you to be the one who makes that determination. We’re here to help at your invitation.
If you’d just like to check out a Sunday morning worship service, walk in the main entrance and turn right. If you’d like to explore other options, or just have a question, anyone hanging out in the atrium will be happy to help you.
Teaching
We strive to consistently teach the Word in a way that allows it to speak for itself, exposing you to its truth and encouraging you to dig deeper beyond our Sunday morning encounters. Our pastors spend much of their time trying to unearth the meaning that the divine Author of Scripture originally intended in a specific passage in the Bible, then connect the dots to our lives in 21st century America.
We usually spend several weeks in each teaching series, either walking through a book of the Bible or building a Biblical perspective on a certain topic.
Music
We believe that music is an important tool that helps us ascribe worth to God. It also prepares us to listen to Him as we study the Word. Christian songwriters of every generation have added stylistic and literary distinctives to church music, unified in their worship of God while separated by cultural change.
As a result, a typical Sunday includes modern worship songs from today’s writers and some of the best historical works of the church. Our music is provided by a rotating team of musicians from within Grace Church.
Giving
Individual giving is a form of worship; it should be done joyously, freely, generously and without internal or external compulsion. Consequently, we take no offerings during our services; instead, we provide offering boxes at various locations so that all who desire to worship God through giving can do so freely and privately.
We do not want to hinder spiritual growth by resorting to man-made fundraising techniques that place people under pressure to give or create false guilt. Rather, we desire to provide everyone with the opportunity to give voluntarily.
Take things at your pace
For some, Grace Church is like a spiritual oasis which provides an opportunity to catch one’s breath and process what you’ve been going through during the previous phase in your life. We’re not indifferent to your unique needs, but we’ll only step into your world if we’re invited.
We are committed to ministering to those whom God sends to us, whether it’s for one service or for a lifetime. If permitted, we’ll help you discover the life changing experience of knowing Jesus Christ in a personal way.
